Parents & Teachers As Allies • About

NAMI offers presentations about mental illness in children and adolescents to parents, teachers and other school staff through the Parents and Teachers as Allies program. This effort is a collaboration among NAMI, the Montgomery County Public School system and other nonprofit mental health organizations. It focuses on training parents and school staff to identify the signs of mental illness in children and refer children and their families for appropriate mental health services and work with the school system to improve communication about mental health issues to families.
